Got kena rotan ah?

When i was in primary school back in the early 2000, this phrase was very widely used and it brings back memories of the good old mischevious days. We would do so many nonsense and then end up getting in trouble with our teachers.

When someone was caught doing something, the rest of us would run away from the crime scene and seek shelter as fast as possible. The friend which was caught usually gets court marshall by our discipline teacher.

The rest would wait impatiently for the hearing to be over. Was one of the hardest moments for us students to know that your friend is fighting a battle with the higher authority and there is nothing we could do about it. The one famous and without fail, the first question that will always be asked irrespective of all other factors is:

Dei/wei/bro/macha, got kena rotan ah??

Followed by : Where kena?? How many?? Pain ah??

The last caining which i remember receiving was during my form 2. 😛

Thank you all teachers for those unforgettable years in school 😀
